Q: Are materials included in the cost of the intro to woodworking course?
A: Yes, all materials and use of tools are included with the cost of our Introduction to Woodworking course. Intermediate and Alumni classes may require students to purchase their own lumber and supplies; please inquire about your design if you have questions.
Q: What else is included with enrollment?
A: Each student will receive a measuring tape along with safety glasses. The items you create in class—a cutting board and end table in the Intro course, or whatever pieces you design in Intermediate and Advanced—are yours to take home once completed!
Q: HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO SIGN UP FOR A CLASS?
A: Students for all classes must be 16 or older, unless otherwise noted in a course description. If younger than 18, we will need a guardian to attend the beginning of the first class to sign waivers.
Q: if i miss a class or plan to miss a class, can i make it up?
A: We kindly ask students to sign up for a session knowing they will be able to attend all classes, no travel or obligations planned ahead of time. Especially during Covid times, please be extra mindful and understanding of class sizes and other’s comfort levels. Of course life happens, and if a class is missed, we will do our best to provide a make-up class opportunity. If in the case make-up options at the time do not work for the student and instead requires an instructor to be available an hour prior to class start time there will be a fee. Q: IS THERE A PRE-REQUISITE FOR THE INTERMEDIATE COURSE?
A: Yes. Intermediate courses are only offered to students who have completed the Introduction class. We require this so that we can ensure Intermediate students are comfortable with our machines and know the basics of working with wood.
Q: I TOOK AN INTRO CLASS AT ANOTHER SHOP, CAN I SIGN UP FOR INTERMEDIATE AT BIEN HECHO?
A: Sure! But please contact us first to share your experience so we’re all on the same page.
Q:what is your refund policy?
A: All Gift Certificates are NON-REFUNDABLE.
Covid-19 Refund Policy (still in effect updated 12/2023): ALL SALES ARE FINAL. If for some reason we need to postpone your purchased workshop before class takes place, we will gladly hold your space or offer a full amount voucher which can be redeemable at anytime. If there is a shutdown (city, pandemic etc…) after your class has started, we will resume and pick up from where we left off once it is safe for all of us to be back in the shop. GIFT CERTIFICATES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE
Pre-Covid Policy: All refunds are subject to a 6% processing fee. Refunds for classes are only offered up to 7 days before your class begins. Alternatively, you can receive a 100% refund in Bien Hecho Academy store credit, which can be applied to a future class. No refunds will be offered for class withdrawals less than 7 days before your class begins. GIFT CERTIFICATES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE
